100 Acres: The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park Adjacent to the Indianapolis Museum of Art and located on 100 acres that includes woodlands, wetlands, meadows and a 35-acre lake. It is one of the largest museum art parks in the country, and the only one to feature the ongoing commission of site-specific artworks.

Broad Ripple Funky village on northeast side of Indy with fun shops, cafes, and bars
Butler University Small liberal arts school that offers great lectures, plays and music.  Check out the Holcomb Gardens where you'll find beautifully landscaped grounds and walking trails that will make for a peaceful afternoon.
The Canal Take a paddle boat ride along the canal downtown
Central Canal Towpath The Central Canal Towpath begins at the Monon Trail in Broad Ripple and follows the historic 1836 canal towpath for 5.23 miles ending at 30th Street.
Eagle Creek Park Beautiful trails, lakes, playgrounds, picnic areas, and nature center. Take your family canoeing on the reservoir. $5 entry fee.

Holliday Park Multiple playgrounds--good for a wide range of ages, mature trees with
great shade. And they have a small but fun and free indoor nature center

Hoosier National Take the family out for the day to enjoy the scenic national forest.
Indiana Dunes Located in Chesterton, this National Lakeshore is gorgeous with its
outdoor activities centered around both their beaches and the pine
forests. Ideal place for biking and hiking
Indianapolis City Market This historic landmark features prepared foods, ethnic groceries and retail shops. It also features the city‘s Farmer‘s Market on Wednesdays and free music concerts on Wednesday and Friday
evenings.
Monon Trail Excellent walking, jogging, and biking trial made from former railroad
track route.
Mullins Farm Opens at Halloween. Has the largest display of Halloween paraphernalia in a barn (not scary—kids love it!). Also has a petting farm with goats, corn maze, and hay rides
Bicycle Races Bloomington is home to the annual Little 500 bicycle race that is the
subject of the movie Breaking Away. Closer to Indianapolis there are a variety of races including the Indianapolis Zoo‘s Wild Ride in September.
Foot Races From 5Ks to Marathons, Indianapolis is host to a variety of running races.  One group to train with is Indy Runners. Even if you don‘t join their group they provide a comprehensive race calendar at http://www.indyrunners.org/
Stuckey Farms Provides a pumpkin patch, apple picking, and tractor rides.

Creamery
They sell eggs, meat and dairy items and you can watch them milk the
cow at 4:30 on most days. They also host an organic farmer‘s market on Saturdays from 9am- noon. Don‘t miss the scrumptious farm fresh

Motor Races: Indianapolis offers many opportunities for race enthusiasts to enjoy this high speed excitement! Check out the Indianapolis 500 (May) and NASCAR‘s Brickyard 400 (July), don‘t miss the Hall of Fame Museum on the Speedway Grounds or even take a tour of the track including walking on the brick finish line.

Upland Tasting Room Tastings and growler fillings are available daily and the beer selection, which includes favorites like the Dragonfly IPA and Upland Wheat Ale, is always changing.
